What is this page?

It is a now page, an idea by Derek Sivers. As Derek describes it:

Besides answering the common question, “What are you up to these days?”, those who have a now page say it’s a good reminder of their priorities. […]

For me; the latter point he is making is the most important. It’s good to spend some time reflecting on what is important — for me — now.

Life

We spent the summer doing some house renovations and painting. Then spent three wonderful weeks in our Hero Camper. After that life threw us a curveball that turned things a bit up-side-down, but we are managing the situation and getting used to some new routines.

The weather have been warm and nice the last few weeks, but you can feel the autumn creeping up on us. I’m kind of looking forward to it — winter means there is a pause to outside projects. And time for “hygge” and some long awaited indoor projects.

Projects

My computer and electronics projects often grind to a halt in the summer:

Winter-Thomas needs to stop writing checks that summer-Thomas has to cash — especially when summer-Thomas would rather be outside than rebuilding a broken Ceph cluster in the basement. — Post: Simplicity is king

But we have managed to get a lot done on the house, shed, and our Hero Camper.

I’ve had a lot of time to think this summer, when driving, camping and spending some unforeseen time away from home. This put a lot of ideas in my head about my DIY security system. And I’m now working pretty much all evening completely rebuilding it.

Not much have happened with the homelab lately, it’s just doing its thing 🙂
